MAY 2026 ITINERARY (tentative) – You'll receive a more detailed itinerary at our “Get to Know You” meeting this spring, but here’s a sneak peek of your exciting adventure to London! 

Friday, 8 May

Begin your journey with an overnight direct flight from Detroit to London (approximately 7-8 hours), setting the stage for an unforgettable trip.

Saturday, 9 May

Touch down at London Heathrow around 9 AM. While we wait to check into the hotel in the afternoon, we’ll kick things off with a literary tour of Bloomsbury (the area around our hotel) to stretch our legs and soak in some local culture. If the weather isn’t on our side, we'll explore an alternative spot. After checking in, unwind at the hotel, and for those up for it, join us later for a scenic night walk along the Thames.

Sunday, 10 May

Start your day with a delicious English breakfast (included every morning). Then, we’ll hop on a motorcoach for a half-day guided tour of London, giving you a great overview of the city’s iconic landmarks. The rest of the day is yours to explore at your leisure until the evening when we’ll gather for a group dinner within walking distance of the hotel.

Monday, 11 May

This morning, we’ll take a leisurely walk to the world-renowned British Museum for a couple of hours of exploration. Afterwards, enjoy some free time in vibrant Covent Garden, where you can shop, dine, or simply take in the lively atmosphere. (Note: Monday and Tuesday itineraries may switch.)

Tuesday, 12 May

Today, we’ll visit the area around St. Paul’s Cathedral. If you'd like, take some time to explore this magnificent building on your own. Just a short walk across the Millennium Bridge awaits the Tate Modern Gallery and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. (Note: Monday and Tuesday itineraries may switch.)

Wednesday, 13 May

We’ll embark on a full-day trip outside of London to Leicester. Here we will get a quick walking tour of the city and then a private tour of Leicester Cathedral where King Richard III’s mortal remains were formally reinterred in 2015. There will be time to visit The King Richard III Visitor Centre as well as some of the rest of town. Since we may return later in the evening, we suggest keeping your night open for relaxation rather than planning any events.

Thursday, 14 May

Enjoy the entire day to yourself—whether it's visiting more London sights, indulging in local cuisine, or simply relaxing, the choice is yours!

Friday, 15 May

Another free day to explore London at your own pace. With so much to see and do, you'll have endless options to fill your day.

Saturday, 16 May

It's time to say goodbye to London. We’ll leave the hotel in the morning for our flight back to Detroit. Our early-afternoon flight will have us back in Detroit by late-afternoon, ready to reminisce about the memories made.
